None More Metal AKA The Emerald Law
The FCK has opened the door to all that is metal. If you ever need to kill an hour at work, just go to wikipedia and follow the magical tree of metal. I think there are no finer musical cartographers then those brave souls who have tried to classify that which is metal. Where does one go from here? Some would say to Kuma’s. I say yes, and then when you get back partake in some Probot!
Why Probot? Arguably Dave Grohl may be the most significant and prolific musician of my generation and this is his take on metal. Not just one kind of metal, but most of the significant sub-genres on one album. You got your Stoner Doom, Black Metal, Speed Metal, Bone Metal, Tijuana Sludge , Epic Thrash, and even Road House Boogie. It also has Lemmy! Personally I’m partial to Stoner Metal\Doom and one the best examples of that is “The Emerald Law” with vocals by Scott “Wino” Weinrich.
Now some may ask what is The Emerald Law? Fuck if I know. Metal artist seem to all have some strange and kick ass religion that has no true Canon. I suspect its all an adaptation of Conan comics, norse mythology, Frank Franzetta paintings and in and Lovecraft’s Cthlulu Mythos (and its numerous offshoots). In either case its probably just some cool shit to think about and paint on the side of a van.
Now if you don’t mind, I gotta get back do some bullshit and listen to Goblin Cock.
